Maple Lab
A mathematical program "Maple" will be used in this class.
Example programs are provided.
You must be able to modify the programs, experiment
various different cases by changing parameter values,
and write a simple report.
Go to Maple Lab
Exams
Two in-class tests, midterm take-home exam, and final take-home exam.
Homework
Answers will be presented in the class by students.
Grade Policy
- Blank answer receives no points.
- Correct answer receives positive points.
- Incorrect answer receives negative points. In particular,
answers that contains obvious self-contradiction, that are obviously
contradict with basic laws of physics, or that contains too
unrealistic conclusion, lose large points. Simple arithmetic mistake
that resulted in unrealistic conclusion is also subject to large
negative points. You must be able to check if your answer is reasonable.
- A: all take-home exams must have 90 pts or above, all in-class exams must have 80 pts or above,
and 80% of homework must be completed.
- B: all take-home exams must have 80 pts or above, all in-class exams must have 70 pts or above,
and 80% of homework must be completed.
